The UAHS is pressing for an independent and public photographic survey of the empty museum before demolition works begin.

The current proposals have now been granted planning permission, despite objections from DOCOMOMO, the Twentieth Century Society, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, and the Ulster Architectural Heritage Society. The campaign to 'Make the Most of Our Museum' has attracted unprecedented support from across the world design professionals who are passionate about the building.

We still hope that DCAL will have the foresight to pay heed to the strength of respected opinion from modernist experts and realise the true potential of this unique asset.
